59 Hours of terrorism – War against the culture of a spiritual nation

I don't have much more details other than "it was more than 59 Hours" about the terrorist attack of Mumbai happened last week. Again this week, sound of gun shots scare people at the Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi. Thousands of peoples were killed by this kind of terrorist attack in last few years. General people of this nation are scared. Scare to go out in the road; scare to outing with family. Is this something new we are fighting with? Hmmm..... I try to collect things. And the answer come to my mind is "No". India has a long history of external attacks. External forces always try to capture our nation, our wealth. But they won't able to change our culture, our believes, our trust and our spirit.

Yesterday, means Friday 05th December 2008, I was on my way to home. Sealdah station, one person sited beside me, an average looking guy of age around 25. He was carrying a bag. Umm, the bag was slightly bigger than average daily passenger. Sure, this person is not a daily passenger. Suddenly, he put his bag on the sit and asked me to watch it. He said, he will come back within a moment after purchasing some foods. First question came into my mind was "Should I trust this person?" and next "Why not?" We used to trust people, we used to trust humanity, we believe on words and most importantly we have faith on our believes from the core of our soul. Obviously, I go with our culture; a more than 3500 year old culture. Some of you may have different opinion about my decision, but the outcome was not harmful at all for that scenario.

At night, when I was thinking about the situation, the question became more complex. Does those militants succeeded in their intention? Is this war is against our administrative bodies or against our culture? Do they able to break our spirit (spirit of loving each other)? "Answers?" - We need to decide; "We" the warrior of this "Mahavarat".

yaa...but on the same time we got a clear view abt all the politicians..and our all the bollywood heroes..none of them(excluding very few)raise their voice against this thing..those who can show their muscles and can fight against evil only on bigscreen...
and again we know the fact that..we are nothing but STUPID COMMON MAN...

Nice piece!! It got me excited & so I'm gonna use some of your space. :-)
When those horrible 59 hours were over the first thing came to my mind was-Did they kill people only? I guess no. They killed our sculpture, they killed humanity, they might have killed what makes us different from any other animal. They might not be any human. At least I don't consider them to be so. But if they keep growing, then one day we all also will have to become one of that kind-a fighter, who fights his own death day n night. There won't be any creativity, won't be any culture or anything of such what makes us human!! Bomb-blast doesn't scare me, death doesn't scare, but a world full of robotic soldiers with no other ambition than staying alive scares the hell out of me.
But again I have to add-last saturday while walking down the roads of Colaba and watching people passing by the remains of that great Taj I got the assurance somehow that we are not gonna break so easily!! After all we are human. And don't worry we'll remain so-always!

May that 59 hours of terror does not break our culture...our background...but it explodes not only our heritage but our blind trust on the poiliticians...through out those days we can only watch big speeches of big people on some television news channels...but one thing i can swear on is that we,the people is going to forget all this terror after some days..it only takes a little time to make us blind again..we'll be busy in voting these politicians once again..and there lies the big problem...by adjusting with each and every issues we have become some strange creaturs who can only adjust ..who can only evolute with the situation...but this will be the most pathetic condition for a democratic country if we adjust ourselves with terrorrism..

Good to see that people like you expecting something from bollywood heroes... :P

@Payel
Thanks for your view...

Your anger is quite natural. But all politicians are same. What do you think?

Do we really trust politicians? We trust our views, and politicians are making profit out of it. I agreed that the ruler of the country needs to be more active to prevent the terrorism. They are elected for administrating our basic needs and internal security is a part of it. However according to me terrorism has no connection with democracy. May be I am wrong. But the kings of our ancient age are much more active to protect their territory.

Actually we are become human by adjusting with the situation and nature (According to the evolution theory :P). We will change anyway. Change with carrying all our culture is better than without carrying it. Does not it??
