Golden India - But How Long
Each and every Indian should be proud as because India got a Gold Medal in Olympics. Yes, you rightly heard "A GOLD MEDAL". Yesterday, August 11th 2008, Abhinav Bindra a 26 year old boy got Gold Medal in 10m Air Rifle event. After long 28 years we got a GOLD in Olympics. Also this is the first as an individual event.
I am a software engineer and last three year I serve for other countries mostly for USA. I thought that the love towards my country is almost gone. However, I don't know why I become so much excited (Though the winner of the event is not so much expressive about it. May be this is why he is champion.) when I heard that we have a GOLD, may be the first of many. "May Be"! why? Yes I use a "May Be" because we Indians are so passionate about cricket and football that we always overlook the fact - We also have the talent in other sports. Never try to identify our strengths and nurture the same for better results. After this achievement we can easily found that there are many people talking about the gold medal of the Olympics but no one, specifically the governing bodies, are interested to improve the infrastructure. Now, you will ask me what can I do to improve it? How could it be possible? Yes! you are right we definitely can help it. Is it true? No, my dear friend no. Think about one thing if the very next day of wining GOLD in Olympics, Sachin got a double century or Sehwag got a triple century or Kumble got a hat trick there will be more gossip on cricket rather than the Abhinav Bindra. The difference is in our approach towards the games other than cricket or football.
Though it is totally my opinion, but every one will agree with me that we have a 1,100,000,000 people in India, there must be potential to get more and more GOLD in each and every Olympics. Am I wrong?

Wet Memories... ... ...
Certainly it started rain. It was 11-15 A.M. or so. Saturday June 28th. I saw him standing in front of a medicine store. Watching every rain drops that kisses the road. Thinking about something. Something that really catch his attention in this monsoon. I saw him earlier but can't remember where. I tried to recall several times. Who is he? Do I know him? Oh yes! Got it. It is me. What I am thinking? "Thinking about some old memories." Thinking about old? How it possible?
I saw a little boy carrying a small umbrella which barely can fight with this heavy rain. He was walking to reach his destination. A long time back, I cant remember the year or my age, I was in the same situation. Also, there were thunderstorm along with the heavy rain. I was walking to submit a form for a drawing test. Just was enjoying the rain without worried about any possibilities of mishap or anything else. But today, I just waiting for the rain to stop. Why? Because I do not want to take any risk. Risk? what kind of risk? If I got fever or so so. Probably you tell that it was right decision. I also, think so, even when I am writing this. But I still try to find answer of some simple question that stuck into my so called intelligent brain. Do the fearless character help us to explore the romanticism of the nature? Do, we lost our romanticism as we grown up with the modern society culture?
Finally, I decided to cycling in the rain to understand the thrill. Alas! It was too late. When I unlock my cycle the rain stop certainly as it started to make me remember few old myself.

Bandh - A perfect "Environment Day"
A perfectly looking week seems to be very dull thanks to a sudden call of bandh in West Bengal. "Price hike of fuel" - is the cause of this bandh. 4th June 2008, when I was returning from my duty I was thinking that it is impossible for me to come to my office next day. And my day will be pretty boring.
However, today means 5th June 2008 is not too much bad as expected. In the morning, I woke up with a sound of thunder and soon I realize that the sky is becoming darker and darker as the clock is running. A few drops of rain make me fell that the weather of the day will be very pleasant. At the 10 o'clock it started raining heavily and continue for some time. I manage to capture some picture. Though it was not great but hope you enjoy it -
So, the day is not so bad as I was thinking last night. I enjoy the rain and a day off from my work.
But the real +ve point of this bandh for me is that today is the "Worlds Environment Day". The day I enjoy the nature. The day Nature enjoy smoke less 12 Hours. Is not it perfect?
